Vanquishing in hard mode this weekend got me thinking which of the following is better. [Cry of Pain] or [ebon vanguard assassin support]

In your opinion is it better to rapidly bomb with cry or rapidly spawn sins flooding the field with targets everywhere

Of course it is build is based on [Assassins Promise]

Personnally I run a hex, sin hex, cry, then sin (but sometimes I do not have enough time to chain it all so I am looking to see if it is better to get the sin out first?

To me it looks that CoP kills faster , but a mini army of assassins is always awesome to see

[ebon vanguard assassin]is stronger imo altho if u are an assassin or mesmer primary u could have both on your bar,but as single target dps ,eva will do more dmg imo not to mention he also packs a kd and the nice synergy it has when coupled with[barbs] and [mark of pain]

If you're not a primary mesmer or assassin (Warrior as noted in your profile) you won't be able to take both [Assassin's Promise] and [Cry of Pain] as Cry of Pain is a mesmer skill. But I would think CoP is better, unless you're running;

[Assassin's Promise]
(wait until half casted)
[You Move Like a Dwarf]
[Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support]

^ As these 3 skills will allow a mini knock-lock (without stonefist insignias ofc)

Other than that, might I suggest taking [Technobabble]? It's awesome for caster-based areas, as it serves as an interrupt, bit of damage, as well as a few seconds of precious shutdown and a condition to top it all off for discord

IcyFiftyFive , this is a mesmer subforum , it's logical he's talking about mesmer builds. It doesn't matter what profession is in his profile.

On topic: I think both CoP and EVAS would do nice , especially if you have arcane echo. You can echo whichever skill you need.

lvl 110 hmmm, if its that good it should spawn a gaint sin whos daggers are the size of small skyscrappers

Depends too much on the team and area to give a definitive answer.
However, I would say CoP for the following reasons:
- can be used as interrupt
- Doesn't draw unwanted aggro (assassins wander off once in a while)
- AoE damage
- When not used as interrupt can be used to finish a foe with AP on it (remember, there are more foes who can block/dodge than foes that use anti-spell skills like Spell Breaker or hex removers.

It depends on the situation and the rest of your build. EVAS is good on a caster because you get instant tanking when you are being attacked by melee. If the target has a condition or hex, its lead attack (iron palm) also causes knockdown and its 2 other attacks are unblockable.

On the other hand, CoP probably dishes out more damage if you have a mob that is closely packed. A drawback of CoP is the need for a mesmer hex to prime it.

It is like comparing apples and oranges, each has its own advantage. CoP is an offensive nuke, and EVAS can be used for defense and generally has decent damage over time.

And yes I am a mesmer

Besides pooring out damage one thing to think of the more targets made the more likly they get hit with spells and damage from the enemy

It has a slow cast time , even with fast casting factored in. And you need to grind to make it worth.

don't have room for it due to limits I have [great dwarf weapon] and pre buff a melee before aggro
